Hello,
Please take a look at this pull request - with these changes I get better Bootstrap integration in both left-to-right and right-to-left layouts. It also uses Glyphicons instead of images (and Font Awesome instructions are included).
I'm using it in my app and would like to have it upstream or at least start a conversation about what is or isn't suitable.
